I Am Your Music Man, I Come from Down Your Way

February 22nd, 2012

What do you play? The piano? Did you ever have piano lessons? And you survived them? Well that’s just great! For many of us, piano lessons weren’t so wonderful, but there’s a way now to catch up. Because there is a downloadable course that you can now use. It consists of a number of audio and video files, and also books where you can print out selected pages. From what I’ve heard, it’s a great course, and people who have taken it are raving about the results. According to what I read, learning to play the piano is simpler than learning to play the guitar, so maybe there’s something to be said for this method. It’s such a satisfying skill to have, and now acquiring that skill just got a whole lot easier. You’ll need a computer though, and maybe just a bit of dedication. Good luck to you!

I Never Knew This About My School

February 4th, 2012

I never realized how cheap my school was. They get thousands of dollars from students from tuition. They make a lot of money, but our band gets pretty bad instruments. I didn’t realize this until I began reading a few digital piano reviews. Ever since then, I’ve noticed the numerous money-saving tactics that the school has used.

According to the reviews that I read, the Casio PX-130 and Yamaha P85 are two cheap digital pianos that are recommended for beginners. Bands and other people who are looking to perform should be using something twice as expensive. How does this relate to my school? Well, what I learned is that the digital pianos that my school uses are old and used. They’re also cheap. They’re probably $300 if they tried to sell them now. I never knew this before. I just accepted them as being decent pianos, but they aren’t even decent.

We need better instruments. We’re striving artists. We want to become better pianists, drummers, and musicians in general. Get us some good digital pianos. Get us some good instruments.

My Sister and I Communicate Through Music

December 5th, 2011

My sister, Rose, and I have never gotten along. I suppose it is the usual sibling rivalry out of control but for as long as I can remember we have been at each others throats. Rose is two years older than me and she never lets me forget it. When I was younger I would let her boss me around but when I hit the age of eight I refused to put up with it any longer. When I entered high school things got even worse between us until one day we were stuck at home alone because our parents had grounded us to the house after a particularly bad argument. I was in my room playing Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and she came to the door and asked me who the artist was. We wound up spending over three hours listening to our favorite music and watching music videos online. That was the best time we ever had together and while the fighting didn’t stop we did gain a common ground which we still have to this day.

The Rise to Fame of Irish American Singers

November 17th, 2011

Blogway Baby: Medicine for the Fabulous InvalidIt’s hard to imagine the Irish people without great song and dance. Lacking many forms of modern entertainment, the Irish historically entertained themselves with song and dance at regular community gatherings. Thousands of miles away in America, Irish Americans never surrendered their love of song. Although their first years in America were rough, the Irish were ultimately accepted into American society and many Irish Americans became quite famous for being great singers. Not long after getting off the boat penniless, many Irish American singers were enjoying chart-topping songs. The subject of songs were often of an Irish American character, recounting immigration stories and struggling for acceptance in America. Many of these Irish American tunes have risen to the status of all-time greats. Many Irish Americans have become some of the more prolific songwriters in American history. To honor their many great accomplishments in recording, the music industry has bestowed some of its top honors on great Irish American singers.

The “DigiTech RP500 Buy It on the Internet” Banner

November 16th, 2011

Visual Sound GarageTone Series Axle Grease Delay Guitar Effects Pedal ...When I read the banner “DigiTech RP500 buy it on the internet” I thought “Hmm… another guitar effects, I wonder how good it is.”

I like buying new guitar gadgets and then trying them for a month. If I like it I write reviews about it. If I don’t like it I take it back to the store and have it exchanged for another gadget. The ones that do not get returned I sell on my website. I got a pretty good following, so I make enough to make ends meet.

When I saw the DigiTech RP500 ad, I went and bought it. It was one of the few guitar effects that I liked. After using it for a week, I fell in love with it. I never want to let go of it. In the three years that I have been doing business, I only kept an item that I reviewed thrice. The first was my guitar, the second was an amp that I accidentally dropped, and the third was the DigiTech effect.

When I posted online the review that I wrote, many looked for the effect. I broke quite a few hearts when I posted that the DigiTech is not for sale from my website.
